Membership
The Danish Playwrights' and Screenwriters' Guild has 296 members who all support themselves through translating, adapting or writing dramatic works for film, theatre, radio and television.
The main criteria for a writer to become a member of the Union is that he / she shall have had a play or other public work produced professionally in the theatre or on television or radio or is the author of an original manuscript to a film that has screened publically in Denmark. Scriptwriters who have received manuscript development grants from The Danish Film Institute, Dansk Novellefilm or a Danish television channel may also be eligible. Students with playwriting degrees from the academy in Århus or in scriptwriting from The Danish Film School in Copenhagen are also considered as qualifying.
