BAFTA Award turns to politics

Adam Price, the man behind 'Borgen'

Last Sunday  this year's BAFTA Award in the international category went to one of Danish television's biggest succeses, the political drama 'Borgen' written by Adam Price, Tobias Lindholm and Jeppe Gjervig Gram. It seems that Danish politics has finally released its dramatic potential.

From a Nordic point de vue the award can evidently be regarded as a testimony to the booming British fascination with all (televised) things Scandinavian and Danish in particular. That was beginning to show as early as two years ago when the first season of 'The Killing' won the BAFTA Award in competition with the Emmy and Golden Globe-winning AMC-series 'Mad Men'.
