Tampere Theatre Festival 2011 1.-7th of August 2011

This year running for the 43rd time, Tampere, Finland hosts the oldest and the largest professional theatre festival in the Nordic countries, serving as a display window for the finest Finnish and international productions.

The festival takes place during the first week of August around the city of Tampere at over 20 venues with app. 80,000 theatre enthused people attending the performances (2010)!

The festival consists of five separate units: Main Programme, OFF Tampere fringe festival, Programme Tent, Club Festival Encorebaana and Great Nocturnal Happening. Besides the performances various meetings, seminars and discussions are also organised during the Festival week.

The Main Programme forms the artistic framework of the festival, while the Great Nocturnal Happening lends a carnevalistic atmosphere to the city of Tampere on the night between Thursday 4th of August and Friday 5th of August.

You can pick up the reserved tickets at any Lippupiste ticket outlet. Please note that the ticket collection at the Festival office is for groups only. All other tickets should be collected at Lippupiste outlets.

Ticket Discounts are available for students, senior citizens, unemployed people, theatre professionals and groups of at least ten people. Also people who buy tickets for 10 different performances are entitled to discount prices. The discount tickets for the children's performances are available for children and young people only. If there is only one price shown for the performance there are no discounts for it.

If there are any unsold tickets left they go on sale an hour before the performance at the respective venues. In the Tampere Theatre and in the TTT-Theatre the unsold tickets can be bought at their own box offices. In other venues they are sold at the doors.
